Baby Butterfly Patch for Jack’s Basket
I’m so excited: I finally finished a quilt! Last night I added a navy binding to Baby Butterfly Patch.
Here’s a peek at the pieced backing with my all-time favorite novelty print.
As I mentioned in an earlier blog post, I modified the Butterfly Patch pattern by Lella Boutique in order to make this quilt smaller for a baby. Vanessa Goertzen, the pattern designer, is hosting a quilt along and offering the pattern for only $5 until June 30, 2019. In fact, I already have a layer cake of Garden Variety fabric set aside to make a full-size quilt similar to the baby version. (Update: See my full-size quilt here.)
I can hardly wait to deliver this quilt to Jack’s Basket to celebrate a sweet new baby diagnosed with Down syndrome. Last night I received a copy of Jack’s Basket annual report, and it brightened my whole day. So far they’ve celebrated more than 1,150 babies, encouraged families in a meaningful way, and engaged health care providers to help them discuss Down syndrome accurately without bias.
If you know a family who would be blessed by Jack’s Basket, please contact them. They’d truly love to connect.
I have one more quilt top to finish as part of my happiness project and the Hands2Help project. So stay tuned for next week’s Friday Finish. And you can hop on over to Sarah’s blog now to see more finishes and probably some more quilts ready for Hands2Help.
Joyfully,
Tracie
P.S. We finally have sunshine, and it illuminated my quilt in such a happy way this morning.
