Ultimate Beginner Quilt Block 3: Picture Window
Welcome to the Ultimate Beginner Quilt sew along! Today Kimberly’s going to show us how to make Block 3 Picture Window. You can find the free pattern on the Fat Quarter Shop blog. For my quilt, I’m using a combination of Day in Paris fabrics by Zen Chic and Moda Grunge.

Picture Window Pattern Pointers
If you are using directional prints (fabric that has a definite up/down or right/left orientation), you’ll need to cut with care so that the pieces look more cohesive when you assemble the block.
One thing I really like about the Fat Quarter Shop Picture Window pattern is the instructions include block sizes as you assemble so that you can make adjustments along the way. It’s a convenience that not all pattern writers include, yet it will help you create an accurately sized block.

If you want to make your first quilt or simply enjoy making a fun sampler quilt, I hope you’ll join in this sew along! Read about block 1 and block 2 on my blog and get all the details from the Fat Quarter Shop.
Joyfully,
Tracie
