Ultimate Beginner Quilt Block 6: Lattice
Welcome to the Ultimate Beginner Quilt sew along! Today Kimberly’s going to show us how to make Block 6: Lattice. You can find all the details (free pattern and tutorial) on the Fat Quarter Shop blog, the Jolly Jabber.
I made my Lattice block from a mix of Moda’s Day in Paris fabric line and Grunge.
If you have a Simple Folded Corners Ruler, you can use it to stitch the diagonal seams. It’s not a necessary tool; yet, I find it to be a big time saver when you’re making a lot of these blocks for a quilt, such as my Pineapple Punch Quilt and Off-Road Jeep Adventure Quilt.
These first six blocks are foundational to so many quilt blocks. Once you’re comfortable piecing them, you’ll feel confident moving on to your next quilt. If you’re not sewing along yet, I assure you there’s still time to join in, if you’d like. Be sure to download the free patterns from the Fat Quarter Shop: stripes, nine
