Wild Geese Straight Furrows

I’ve got sunshine on a cloudy day. When it’s cold outside, I’ve got the month of May.

– My Girl, The Temptations

When you’re working on a quilt, does a song stick in your head? My Girl is the theme song for this baby quilt. The buttery yellow, soft green, and pink colors in the fabrics are a welcome hint at spring while winter spreads her white glory all over Minnesota.

Wild Geese Straight Furrows

I’m using the Fat Quarter Shop’s Wild Geese Straight Furrows pattern from the Classic and Vintage series to make a baby quilt for someone’s special girl. All the half-square triangles come together neatly thanks to Triangles on a Roll, just like the Lady of the Lake quilt. The method is slick! Watch Kimberly Jolly create the block on her YouTube tutorial.

The baby-sized quilt top has nine blocks. I plan to back and bind the quilt with the floral print. Since I have a small amount of coordinating pink fabric, I plan to add that in a flanged binding. Won’t that be fun?!

I’m thinking spring!

Joyfully,

Tracie
